Back to ... Flex Builer 3!?
It all started a few days ago after I read the information about how I can use the future version of Flash Professional CS5 to create iPhone native application. This means skill set of making Flash animation and writing ActionScript scripts can leveraged to make iPhone app, which to me is very exciting. So I talked to myself: maybe it make sense to start beefing up my ActionScript technique. And that's why I suddenly thought of giving Flex Builder 3 a try. After all, Flex Builder 3 has a much better ActionScript editor compare with the lousy one in Flash Pro, and the next version of Flash Pro will support using Flex (Flash) Builder to edit ActionScript in a Flash Pro project. So the skill I learned now won't be wasted.Firing up my Portable version of Flex Builder 3, I found that the SDK was not referenced properly. No problem. Just open a project, right click on property, in the builf tag select choose SDK, and the right will fall into it's place.
I also found that the lastest SDK 3.4 doesn't work well with the system, so I stick with SDK 3.0 .
And then I need some quick quick way to get myself familar with the enivornment, and found that "Lynda.com Flex 3 Beyond The Basics" helps me to jump right in by following just the Lesson 1-1 . And after then I totally appreciate the editor.
I also enjoy the "Flex Solutions Essential Techniques For Flex 2 And 3 Developers" book
which helps me to learn various aspect of Flex.
