Journey to Flash Lite 2.0

Today, after having my Nokia 5300 (a phone which is capable to access Flash Lite 2.0 content) for
about 3 week, I am finally jumping into to bandwagon of creating Flash Lite 2.o content. This is, of course, not gonna be a straight forward journey, so I am all ready to document it here, in case I forgot my way to get back home later :-E .

It turns out that I don't necessary need Flash CS3 Professional to create Flash Lite 2.0 content. Still I download the trial version of Flash CSs Pro trial edition anyway.

Well, here's the low down of getting my Flash Lite 2 development environment set up:

First, install Macromedia Flash 8 Professional.

Second, download Flash Lite 2 update for Flash Professional 8.

Next I downloaded the Flash Lite 2 Content Development CDK (or download it here) so that I can have some demonstration to play with and have some code to start with, instead of coding everything from scratch.

Then I downloaded the Mobile Device Profile Update #5 so that I can test my Nokia 5300 in a more realistic way. (Besides it's cool to see my phone on the profile list.)

And now that I have my environment ready, it's time to read, and code. The following material should get you going:

- Your Second Flash Lite 2 Application : Nice Flash Lite 2 sample application with code explanation.
- Flash Lite 2 : Keyboard code list
- Specfication of Nokia 5300, from development point of view
- Working with Nokia Series 40 Flash Lite content – Part 1
