ArcServe problem

I got dragged into some ArcServe problem, so I surfed the net and found some info. That was helpful, but then I started to realize that it could be caused by the "Enable GFS" setting.

Here's what I read from a web site:

The GFS policies provide a monthly schedule (grandfather) of full backups that occur weekly (father) and either differential or incremental backups that take place daily (son). Using one of ARCserve's GFS rotation policies, administrators can automatically put into action a backup plan that backs up all of the sites servers for a year using a minimum number of media cartridges


This doesn't really match our customer's plan on doing a monthly backup really at the end of the month.

Strange Server file copy problem

For some crazy reason, the DR server on the production environment that I worked with has a strange behavior: it has problem copying some huge files (Like 9G+), and it will throw me a crazy resource error. Reboot seems to resolved the problem, but it's still frustrating that I have to use reboot to resolve the problem.
