A graphical overview of Windows Vista

Found this nice graphical overview of the new features in Windows Vista. Why can't Microsoft write the same kind of useful overview instead of the bullshit currently in their web site?

Install C# Express 2005

I just installed C# Express 2005, and found that the web development with C# is not in the C# Express 2005. Guess I have to install the web development tool instead ..

Live with Vista Beta 1 - Part 2

More Vista fun ....

- PowerDVD 5.0 works great.

- DAMN! I cannot install the XP image resize power tool on Vista. AHHhhhhhhhhhhh....

- Another thing I hate about Vista Beta 1: I can no longer set the Store Folder of my Outlook Express 6. What the ####****&^$%^&! And Outlook 2003 has problem running mutliple Hotmail account. This really suck >:-E ....

Live with Vista Beta 1 - Part 1

Being a brave and fearless geek I am, I have Windows Vista Beta 1 installed on my working machine. I tried to see if every thing I do daily could operate properly, and the following are my founding:

- Sometime the DVD Recorder on my DELL desktop gets a little bit shaky. I kind of blame the DVD Recorder itself though.

- VMWare Workstation 5.0 cannot be installed on Vista Beta 1. However, VMWare Workstation 4.5.2 (at least build 8848) works pretty fine as long as I set the vmware exe to Windows XP compatible mode.

- Splash ID cannot be run even when I set the compatiblty Mode.

- The IE 7.0 now support tab browsing! In fact, when I use IM 7.0, it really feels like I am using Firefox. Funky.

- Microsoft Office 2003 SP1 works as expected. Nothing special.

- Alcohol 120 works OK to a point. During installation there's a file or two that cannot be "registered", and then when running the application I found that some dragand drop and some delete does not work as expected, but at least the core funciton is working. I am still able to mount drive image.
